Memery is a phrasebook for multi-generational workplaces. Senior leaders quote forty-year-old movies in strategy meetings as if everyone in the room saw them. Most of the room did not. Memery exists so anyone can decode a stray reference in under three seconds, without making it a thing.
How it works
The reference archive is maintained as a curated Git repository at southernvg/GenXPopCultureDecoder. When a quote is merged into the canonical archive, an ingestion pipeline enriches it with a fuzzy search-tag set (via Gemini), a source synopsis (via Wikipedia), and the most relevant clip (via the YouTube Data API). The result is a single source of truth you can search at memery.com.
Suggest a quote
If a reference is missing, use the suggest-a-quote form. Submissions are routed to a curator queue (an automatic draft pull request on the SSOT repo), reviewed, and published.
Why “Memery”
Memes. Memory. The thing your manager has and you don’t. The brand promise is the tagline: understand the references, enjoy the connection.
